Former Crystal Palace manager Frank De Boer has been sacked by UAE side Al-Jazira after only 14 games.
In 2017, the Dutch football legend was sent packing by Palace after losing all of his first five Premier League games. After the former Ajax manager criticised Jose Mourinho while working as a pundit, the then-Manchester United boss branded him: “the worst manager in the history of the Premier League.”
Unfortunately for De Boer, 53, he has only served to give Mourinho more ammunition if he ever criticises the Roma manager again. His most recent spell has proven to be one of the worst of his career.

De Boer took over the Middle Eastern side in the summer, replacing another former Ajax boss in Marcel Kaizer. Unfortunately for him, De Boer's spell in charge of the club did not go to plan at all.
He started relatively well, winning four of his opening six matches in all competitions. However, a torrid run of four defeats in his last six matches proved to be the final nail in his coffin.

He was dismissed soon after his side were knocked out of the UAE League Cup by Al-Wahda. While De Boer finds a place to lick his wounds, fans were reminded of the damning comments Mourinho made.
After De Boer said the Portuguese boss would not be a good coach for Marcus Rashford, Mourinho viciously lashed out at the ex-Inter Milan manager. In a press conference in 2018, he said: “I read something, some quote from the worst manager in the history of the Premier League – Frank de Boer.
"What he was saying was, it is not good for Marcus Rashford to have a coach like me, because the most important thing for me is to win. If he was coached by Frank he would lose because he lost every game. I try to give the best to the kid."
After his horror stint at Selhurst Park, he took charge of Atlanta, where he spent 18 months before becoming the manager of Holland. However, his spell with his country only lasted 15 matches, as he resigned after losing to Czech Republic in the round of 16 stages of Euro 2020.
