Manchester United fans have poured out the praise for Kobbie Mainoo after he bagged two assists for the U21s against Salford City.

The 18-year-old was the protagonist in United’s pre-season tour, being named Man of the Match against Arsenal.

An ankle injury against Real Madrid halted his progress but now the young midfielder is firing on all cylinders again.

Mainoo put up two assists in the U21s’ 4-3 defeat at Salford City in the EFL Trophy and got a full 90 minutes under his belt.

A highlights clip also shows him working his way out of pressure and winning the ball off opponents.

‘He’s actually our best midfielder,’ one fan commented on a clip showing his Tuesday night exploits.
