Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke has insisted his team ‘always believed’ in themselves despite their poor start to the season, and believes they will ‘kick on’ from tonights win.
The Cherries pulled off an excellent 2-0 win against Newcastle at the Vitality Stadum courtesy of a brace from Solanke himself.
The England international opened the scoring well when he pounced on a lose ball in the box to finish past Nick Pope with aplomb.
While his second goal was less impressive, a scrappy header at the back post, Cherries fans will be delighted with their team picking up only their second win of the season.
And Solanke has insisted this win is good fortune for the club going forward, as they are set for some massive games before Christmas against Sheffield United, Luton and Nottingham Forest.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the game Solanke insisted: ‘I am feeling good, haven’t had best of starts to the season but I think we are in a place now to kick on after two back to back home wins in the league. Hopefully I can keep scoring.’
He continued on to say Bournemouth: ‘Always believed, we had tough start to season playing fantastic teams, we all believe in ourselves, the team, the staff and I think its starting to show.
‘We’re far off from where we want to be in the league and hopefully we can kick on from that.’
Solanke joined the Cherries in 2019 in a £19m move from Liverpool, where his career had never really taken off.
He has settled well on the south coast and after a decent outting last season, has kicked on well and has already slotted six goals in the league.
‘I think back then (Liverpool) it didn’t work out,’ he said.
‘I had to go back to square one and work up, the year we got relegated back to championship, I didn’t want to be there, I dreamed of playing in Premier League but felt it was a time to go and score goals, last season I wanted to establish myself and have a decent season.
‘I had an alright season but I’m feeling more confident this season and with these goals behind me I feel great.’
