Martin Odegaard has urged Arsenal to develop a killer instinct in front of goal to put their noses in front in the title race.
The Gunners lost top spot in the Premier League when they were beaten 1-0 at Aston Villa on Saturday but had the chances at least to draw with Unai Emery’s side.
Odegaard said: ‘We have to take our chances. When you come to a place like this it is always tough. So you have to be ruthless in front of goal – myself included, I missed a few big ones, so that’s annoying.
‘But the only thing we can do is work hard to improve and bounce back in the next one-on-one.’
Arsenal are now only a single point ahead of Villa, who are two adrift of leaders Liverpool.
Martin Odegaard says that Arsenal need to become more ruthless in front of goal
Emery’s men announced their credentials by beating both Manchester City and Arsenal in the space of four days.
Odegaard added: ‘The record is unbelievable. So I think everyone knows the quality in their team. They’re very, very well organised, good on the ball.
‘They have some really good individual players. So it’s a tough team to play against.’
