David Beckham’s support ‘meant everything’ to Man Utd star Harry Maguire in testing times
A mystery Manchester United player has claimed that the squad ‘are not having’ Erik ten Hag as their manager following their torrid start to the season, according to new claims. The Dutchman has already come under pressure in the dugout, with Scott McTominay sparing his blushes against Brentford over the weekend with a late brace.
United’s victory leaves them 10th in the Premier League, having lost four of their opening eight games. The Red Devils have been plagued by injuries, though there is still an aura of uncertainty surrounding the club – both on the pitch and off it, in regards to the takeover situation.
Performances have lacked cohesion and quality, with several individuals underperforming and looking like a shadow of their former selves. According to claims on talkSPORT, those issues are likely being caused by the players not truly being on board with Ten Hag.
Alan Brazil claims that the radio station have been told by a United player that the dressing room is ‘not having’ the ex-Ajax boss as their manager and are ‘definitely’ not keen on him being in the Old Trafford dugout. The players also supposedly do not agree with the treatment of Jadon Sancho and the departed Cristiano Ronaldo.

Brazil explained: “Do you know what Ally (McCoist) – and I know you’ve got to be careful what you report on – this is only what I heard from a United player who told someone we know very well.
“’He said, the players are not having the manager, they’re not having him, definitely not. By all accounts, they’re disgusted at the way he treated Cristiano (Ronaldo) and they say (Jadon) Sancho is a great guy who works his socks off, so I don’t know who to believe, to be honest. He said the players aren’t having him, they’re not having him.”

Sancho has been frozen out of the United team by Ten Hag after a public disagreement saw the winger release a statement on social media defending himself from claims that he was not performing to ‘the level’ required to feature for the Red Devils.
The England international has since deleted the post but is refusing to apologise to his manager, having suggested that he should not be believed.
Despite injury problems and off-field matters leaving him short of options in the final third, Ten Hag has privately insisted that Sancho still will not feature until the player swallows his pride and apologises for his actions.
United will hope that the matter can be resolved sooner rather than later for the sake of squad harmony, especially if the rest of the team have reached the consensus that the forward has been mistreated by the manager in the same way that Ronaldo was.
