Crisis? Not for us – Erik ten Hag can see Man Utd progress after Chelsea win
Manchester United are planning significant decisions to raise funds in the January transfer window as Erik ten Hag looks to accelerate his rebuild at Old Trafford, according to reports. The Red Devils have placed three big-name senior players up for sale to open the door for winter reinforcements.

According to the Independent, £177million trio Raphael Varane, Casemiro and Jadon Sancho are available for transfer next month.
They are said to be a trio among several first-team stars whom United will listen to offers to help Ten Hag trim his squad down.
There is reportedly a belief within the walls of Old Trafford that Ten Hag is the latest manager to face issues dealing with players signed by his predecessors.
And United are now ready to clamp down on the long-term problem by sanctioning a flurry of winter exits, should suitable interest emerge.
The report adds that Casemiro is one of the players United have put in the shop window with no problem with the Dutchman.
However, despite arriving in a £70m deal last summer, the 31-year-old doesn’t represent the style of midfielder Ten Hag wants for the coming years and could seek a new challenge.

United can only pursue new signings in January once they have raised funds through player sales due to various factors.
The Old Trafford giants still face Financial Fair Play limitations, partnering ownership uncertainty. But the most prominent reason is that Ten Hag has splashed over £400m in his two summers at the helm.
A centre-back or advanced midfielder is reportedly at the top of Ten Hag’s transfer wishlist in 2024, with OGC Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo heavily linked as Raphael Varane’s long-term successor.
Once his £1.3bn deal for a 25 per cent stake is ratified, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s arrival could fuel United’s pursuit of the Frenchman.

But the 71-year-old and his INEOS team aren’t expected to have a major influence on the club’s January dealings even if the agreement goes through next week.
It’s claimed that incoming chief executive Jean-Claude Blanc wants to lead a complete review of United’s football operation – set to be inherited from the Glazers as part of the deal – before making any drastic decisions.
Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay were among the senior players Ten Hag was happy to offload in the summer.
However, both stars have impressed him with an unlikely renaissance this season that could extend their United careers beyond next summer.
