Andre Onana was responsible for another major error again for Manchester United in their Champions League clash with Galatasaray.

Having already conceded two goals, the United goalkeeper made things even more difficult for his team as the game approached its climax. The Cameroonian received the ball in his own area with the score level at 2-2 but, under little pressure, played it straight to an opposition forward after a lapse in concentration.

Red Devils midfielder Casemiro sought to remedy his goalkeeper's mistake by making a challenge in the box, only to be sent off and have a penalty awarded against him 77 minutes in. It seemed like Onana's nervy start to life at Old Trafford was set to take another blow – before Mauro Icardi blazed his effort wide.

Onana was spared his blushes momentarily. But before United could even process their luck, Icardi was on his way again, this time latching on to a through ball slipped through the empty United defence.

The Argentine striker made no mistake on that occasion, chipping Onana after the shot-stopper appeared to go down too early. And the goalkeeper's error leading to the penalty undoubtedly played a huge part as his side were left with just 10 men.

Erik ten Hag's side were unable to equalise and had to accept a bitter 3-2 defeat, having taken the lead twice in the game. Rasmus Hojlund scored both goals, each closely followed by a Galatasaray strike, including one by former Red Devil Wilfried Zaha.

The defeat left Ten Hag's men with zero points after their two opening European fixtures. They are rock bottom in Group A as Galatasaray moved up to second place.

Elsewhere, Bayern Munich came from behind to win 2-1 at FC Copenhagen. They have six points from two games, including a 4-3 win over United in September.

Onana made the headlines for the wrong reasons on that occasion as well, fumbling a long-range strike from Leroy Sane into his own net after an initially impressive defensive display from United.
