A former Manchester United defender – who was part of the side that lifted the Europa League in 2016-17 – is in talks to join Real Betis.
The free agent has been talking to Sheffield United and Luton Town this summer as he looked to secure a deal with a Premier League side.
Both the Blades and Premier League debutants Luton have struggled on their promotion to the top-flight this term, with both shipping a combined 16 goals so far this season.
As such, they may be keen to shore up any holes in their thus-far leaky defences that may have arisen, with free agents the best source of reinforcement now that the transfer deadline has passed.
However he is now discussing a move to LaLiga with Betis who are coached by former Manchester City and West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Tuanzebe was released from United at the end of last season, having graduated from the youth academy in 2014 and playing his way through the youth teams.
He did manage 37 appearances in the iconic red shirt, but played the vast majority of his football further afield.
Three spells on loan at Aston Villa yielded some 46 games, while Tuanzebe also spent time at Italian giants Napoli, and Stoke City.
