Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson teases a return to training in boost ahead of Man United showdown next weekend after suffering hamstring injury at Man City last month
- Liverpool have a number of first-team stars currently out on the doctor’s table
- Caoimhin Keller has stepped in for Alisson in each of the last three outings
- Mauricio Pochettino has so much to do with woeful Chelsea – It’s All Kicking Off
Liverpool could be set to receive a huge boost after goalkeeper Alisson posted a teasing Instagram story on Thursday afternoon.
The Brazilian stopper has been out since injuring his hamstring in the 1-1 draw with Manchester City at the end of November, with Caoimhin Kelleher stepping in in his place since then.
Thus far he has missed two Premier League matches and a clash with LASK in the Europa League, all of which the Reds have won.
However the absence of their first-choice goalkeeper – considered one of the best in the world – will still have been felt, even if the results have not dipped.
Alisson posted a picture of his personalised Reusch goalkeeper gloves with his initials stitched on the straps without a caption, hinting his return to training.

Liverpool are next in action against Crystal Palace on Saturday, although that seems somewhat too early for the Brazil No 1.
Following that is a clash with Belgian outfit Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League, which has largely been reserved for Kelleher so far this campaign, and therefore it would seem an unlikely stage for his return.
As such, Alisson is perhaps eyeing a potential return against arch rivals Manchester United on December 17, although he would still likely face a late fitness test.
Alisson is not the only starting player out injured currently, with Jurgen Klopp’s side suffering a number of blows ahead of the hectic festive period.
Virgil van Dijk’s regular centre back partner Joel Matip has sustained an ACL injury that is at risk of ending his season.
Ibrahima Konate stepped in against Sheffield United on Wednesday, and although Jarrell Quansah has featured in the Premier League already this campaign, reports suggest the Reds could dip into their coffers for a replacement in January.
First-choice left back Andy Robertson is also sidelined with injury, as well as Diogo Jota, Stefan Bajcetic and Thiago Alcantara.
Alexis Mac Allister picked up a knock to his knee against the Blades and required stitches and was seen hobbling following the game.
