Joey Barton has shared a clip of his upcoming podcast series amid continued controversy over a series of sexist social media posts by the former footballer.
Barton has generated headlines in recent weeks for his tirade over whether women should be broadcasting in football.
The 41-year-old has also taken aim at BBC presenters, shows and the Sports Personality of the Year award.
He has now promoted his ‘Common Sense with Joey Barton’ podcast, which is expected to launch with weekly episodes in February.
‘For all those who followed our last podcast series,’ Barton wrote. ‘We have a new series launching in the New Year. ‘Hopefully back to iTunes number 1 spot again.

Barton shared a clip to promote his podcast, where he discussed being banned from football for 18 months with anti-feminist influencer Hannah Pearl Davis. His ban was later reduced by five months on appeal.
The former midfielder was banned after being found to have placed 1,260 bets on matches between March 2006 and May 2016, breaching FA Rule E8.
‘I retired at 35 because I got banned for gambling,’ Barton said.
‘I grew up gambling on football, I’d go to a betting shop with my grandad at like 13 or 14, I’d put two or three horses on and then I put a football coupon.
‘I started playing football, but I was a gambler before I was a footballer.
‘I had my own online gambling account, so I was betting on all sports right across, including football, so I knew I was breaking the rules eventually. But when I first started there wasn’t the rules and then the rules got tightened.
‘I played in the Rangers Glasgow derby and I then had a bet after that on Celtic’s next game against Barcelona. The Scottish FA then give it to the FA, the FA then look historically into the best I’d had.
‘I give them all the accounts I said look “this is what I’ve bet on, I’m being transparent these are all my accounts, I’ve been betting on football and I shouldn’t have been betting on football”’.
Barton’s podcast promotion came amid a series of posts about England goalkeeper Mary Earps
England star Earps was crowned the BBC Sports Personality of the Year on Tuesday night
Barton ended his playing career after taking over as Fleetwood Town manager in 2018 at the end of his ban.
He has since had a spell in charge of Bristol Rovers, which came to an end when he was sacked in October.
Barton’s podcast co-host Hannah Pearl Davis has more than 1.52 million subscribers to her controversial YouTube channel, where she touts her conservative and misogynistic viewpoints.
The 26-year-old content creator saw a spike in popularity this year after the arrest of misogynist influencer Andrew Tate, with whom she shares a number of controversial opinions.
Barton’s sexist views have stoked controversy in recent weeks, including slamming Mary Earps being crowned as BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
The former midfielder claimed he would score ‘100 out of 100 penalties’ against the England goalkeeper.

Last week he blamed ‘wokeness’ and ‘poor quality guests’ for the cancellation of the long-running quiz show A Question of Sport.
Barton also renewed his attack on Football Focus host Alex Scott by claiming the show would be cancelled, after branding it ‘drivel’ and ‘nonsense’.
Scott took an indirect swipe at Barton on X when promoting her book, How To Be Strong.
She wrote: I don’t have a podcast to promote or the need to try use a platform like this to bully and belittle others. I do have a Sunday Times bestseller that’s still available however, with all proceeds going straight to @RefugeCharity #staywinning
