Man Utd got their season back on track with Burnley victory | Football Digest
Police have reportedly arrested a man who threatened to blow up the Parc des Princes during Paris Saint-Germain’s victory over Marseille on Sunday evening. The hosts ran riot to condemn their bitter rivals to a crushing defeat, with Achraf Hakimi and Randal Kolo Muani scoring early on before Goncalo Ramos bagged a second-half brace.
According to French outlets BFM and RMC Sport, a man was apprehended during the match on Sunday evening after threatening to bomb the stadium. He reportedly called the police himself before telling them he was planning to plant a bomb at the Parc des Princes, prompting a manhunt which lasted for more than two hours.
The man was eventually found near a Paris metro station and was not in possession of any weapons or other dangerous items. It is said that he also attacked a tourist in a cafe near the Parc des Princes and allegedly claimed to be an intelligence service agent upon his arrest.
The person had previously been highlighted as a ‘national security threat’ by French police and is currently undergoing psychiatric evaluation in hospital. He was initially processed at a police station and will now be subjected to further investigations into his background and the circumstances behind his actions.

Meanwhile, the match itself was marred by prolonged homophobic chanting from PSG supporters, with many instances being caught on video and posted online after the final whistle. A large group of home fans behind the goal were heard chanting a homophobic slur at Marseille supporters for almost 15 minutes during the second half.
PSG condemned the actions of the fans in question via a statement on Monday morning, which read: “Paris Saint-Germain condemns all forms of discrimination and wishes to point out that they have no place either in stadiums or in society. The club will meet all of its partners on this essential subject in the coming days.”

French Minister of Sport Amelie Oudea-Castera also weighed in by calling for legal consequences to be handed down to those responsible, posting on X: “It is unthinkable to remain deaf to such hateful and homophobic chants in our stands. Whatever the rivalry and the stakes, they must be fought relentlessly by the supporters, the players in the competition, the authorities and the public authorities.
“Yesterday, these songs spoiled the party at the Parc. It is urgent to eradicate them from our stadiums. I made sure last night that a firm response was given. The disciplinary committee of the LFP is now seized and I invite PSG to file a complaint to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice, so that they are removed from the stadiums.”
