Turkmenistan's FK Arkadag have taken football dominance to a whole new level – by completing a flawless campaign in their first-ever season.
Arkadag were set up earlier this year by ex-Turkmenistan dictator Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov – who is also known by his nickname Arkadag – and they have won the top flight Yokary Liga with 20 wins in 20 games.
In fact, the only blemish on their record came in a pre-season match, when they drew 1-1 with a North Macedonian second division side called Besa Doberdoll.

Unsurprisingly, Arkadag's success has come with a mountain of criticism. Fellow clubs believe that they have unfair finances and were always going to be far superior to everyone else after they signed the majority of the Turkmen national team.
Rival fans are also suspicious of match fixing, with one claiming that referees were helping Arkadag to win matches – and that it was damaging the country's interest in football.
It is claimed that during one game against Shagadam, they were awarded a 91st minute penalty unfairly which saw them win the match.

They will now try and complete the double, as the Turkmen Cup final is just days away.
"This [league win] encourages us to win more victories, we will try to win the Turkmenistan Cup," striker Didar Durdyev said earlier this month.
"The team was formed in April, and we are champions of Turkmenistan by the end of the year, which encourages us to achieve new victories. We will try to win the cup."
Durdyev scored 26 of the 70 goals scored in 20 league games. They only conceded 14.

FK Arkadag is the latest sporting project of Berdimuhamedov, who led the country between 2007 and 2022. He still remains the 'leader of the nation'.
One of his main hobbies is to try and win meaningless entries into the Guinness Book of World Records. During his time as president, he created the world's largest indoor ferris wheel, the largest architectural star, the largest building in the shape of a horse and the tallest unsupported flagpole.
Victory in the Yokary Liga has also given Arkadag qualification for the Asian Champions League next season, where they could come up against the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr or Neymar's Al-Hilal.
