Chelsea and Manchester United target Benjamin Sesko could reportedly be made available in the January transfer window by Red Bull Leipzig. Sesko has turned the heads of many top European clubs with his dazzling displays at RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg before that.
According to 90min, the Bundesliga side have reportedly informed interested parties that they are willing to let the 20-year-old forward move elsewhere in the new year if their valuation for the player is met. It is understood that the club are looking for a fee of around £40million for the Slovenian international, who has only just moved to RB Leipzig this summer.
Sesko penned a five-year contract with Leipzig following an impressive season with RB Salzburg in which he bagged 16 goals in 30 Austrian Bundesliga games. But despite his promise he has been unable to establish himself as a regular starter as of yet.
Throughout the 2023/2024 campaign, he has played second fiddle to fellow new arrival Lois Openda down the middle. The Belgian goal machine arrived at the Red Bull Arena a few days after Sesko after a stellar year playing for Lens in France.
Openda found the back of the net 21 times in 38 Ligue 1 appearances and has continued his fine form in front of goal for RB Leipzig with 8 goals in his first 9 league games. Sesko has mostly come off the bench for RB Leipzig this season but is also playing well.
The 20-year-old has scored three goals in the league and has continued his impressive run of form with Slovenia during Euro 2024 qualifying. Yet RB Leipzig are understood to be willing to let him go if they receive double the £20m they spent on him in the summer.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle are said to have been contacted in recent days by the club as interest continues to intensify in England. AC Milan also attempted to sign Sesko in the summer, as confirmed by his agent Elvis Basanovic who revealed to SportItalia that he’d spoken to the Rossoneri about a potential move to the San Siro.
“I can confirm that I spoke with Milan in the past about Sesko when Maldini was there. However, in that moment a transfer wasn’t possible, it was not the right time,” he said. “You never know in the future, Milan is a big club. Sesko feels very good now at Leipzig where he continues to grow.”
