Sheffield United lifted themselves from the foot of the Premier League table with a hard-fought draw against 10-man Brighton.
Roberto De Zerbi’s hosts looked to build on Simon Adingra’s early goal, but had their plans thrown into chaos when Mahmoud Dahoud was shown a straight red card 21 minutes before full-time.
That decision emboldened Sheffield United to throw caution to the wind and they were rewarded when a dangerous cross into the area was turned into his own net by Adam Webster.
It finished level and that is now six league games without a win for Brighton, a sign of their struggles juggling commitments in Europe with the gruelling Thursday-Sunday schedule.
