The Rugby World Cup kicked off on Friday night with a packed Stade de France watching on as two of the favourites collided.
Hosts France handed the nation the result it craved as they opened their campaign with a 27-13 victory over rivals New Zealand in Paris.
It was the All Blacks’ first pool-phase defeat in World Cup history and they could have few complaints.
