The One Show's latest host Roman Kemp was left red-faced when discussing the Rugby World Cup with James Nesbitt ahead of Ireland's clash with Scotland.

Kemp and co-host Alex Jones had been chatting to the Irish actor when he said: "But tonight we're not talking movies with James Nesbitt, he's in France where the Rugby World Cup is in full swing with his friend and former Scottish rugby player Kenny Logan."

The cameras then cut to Nesbitt and Logan, who were both wearing Ireland and Scotland kits. Kemp continued: "Look at that, in the kit as well, love it. So you're in France for the Rugby World Cup, there's a crucial match tomorrow.

However, Kemp was then cut off by Nesbitt, who quipped back: "I'm Irish." And Nesbitt wasn't the only one to spot Kemp's mistake as Jones yelled: "Irish!"

Kemp, who was left red-faced, took a second and continued: "Let me rephrase that. It's Friday night, it's very late. Sorry James, as a proud Irishman will you be watching the match together?"

Nesbitt also carried on with the interview and he didn't bring up the error again. Ireland put Scotland to the sword at the Stade de France, in a fiesty encounter that was overshadowed by a mass brawl.
