Tommy Fury agrees to fight with 54-year-old who went up against Mike Tyson

Tommy Fury has agreed to fight Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition bout.

Fury, 24, crossed paths with boxing legend Jones, 54, in Saudi Arabia ahead of his half-brother Tyson's crossover fight against former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. They were caught on camera by Boxing King Media.

Jones had a proposition for him – suggesting they face each other on the undercard of his dad John's proposed fight with Mike Tyson. "I said if your father fights Mike, me and you do the co-main event," he said.

Fury was game, replying: "Hey, let's do it." Before Jones added: "That would be out of this world, brother. If they fight, me and him on the undercard. That would be out of this world."

Reacting afterwards, a buzzing Fury said: "Absolutely insane, I've just done a face off with Roy Jones Jr. Let's get this stuff made, regardless of if Mike and my dad don't fight, me and Roy Jones exhibition, let's do it why not."

That's despite him declaring he'd be returning to his professional career after his victory over KSI earlier this month. "A lot went on in the build-up. I'm done with this cross-over s***," he said post-fight.

Jones retired in 2018 – a year before Fury appeared on Love Island. He's since returned to the ring on two occasions, first against Tyson in a November 2020 exhibition which ended in a draw.

He lost on points to ex-UFC champion Anthony Pettis in April in his most recent outing. Fury, meanwhile, is 10-0 with four knockouts to his name.
