Laura Woods had cheeky message for Tyson Fury after TV cock-up forces apology

Laura Woods' outfit blew boxing fans away – well, the ones who were able to see it anyway.

The iconic television and radio presenter was in Saudi Arabia for the Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou bout. As one of the new and biggest faces on TNT Sports, fans would have been pleased to see her on the screen.

However, Woods and the boxing completely disappeared from television screens for at least 30 minutes, as the feed airing the undercard bouts disappeared. Nevertheless, in times of broadcasting trouble, Woods was there to apologise to furious boxing fans.

"Well a big apology from us here in Riyadh," Woods said after the broadcast restarted. "We had a few technical issues so you lost pictures for a while, we know that must have been frustrating. The good news is, we are back and we think we know what it was all about so it won’t happen again. You haven’t missed a minute of boxing so don’t worry about that."

When she did come back on the screen, her cocktail dress went down well with the boxing faithful. "Looking classy as always," one fan wrote. "Laura you look amazing as usual," a second added. A rather complimentary third person also said: "Looking stunning as always. Have a good night."

She also used her moment to give Fury some words of encouragement. "For the record, I’ve always loved Tyson Fury," she said, before adding: "In case you are watching Tyson.”

£21.95

Woods was wearing a turquoise dress while she was presenting for the sports channel. While fans are always happy to see her on the screen, they would have been even more relieved, considering the fracas which took place before.

The feed completely disappeared moments after Martin Bakole stopped Carlos Takam in the fourth round. The pay-per-view stream briefly cut to black, before an apology message suddenly appeared on the screen.

The message was also accompanied by a piercing, high-pitch noise which had viewers reaching for the mute button. Fans had to shell out £21.95 to watch the action in Riyadh, and the stream appeared to get fixed in time for fans to watch 18-year-old heavyweight star Moses Itauma stop Istvan Bernath in the first round.
