Logan Paul made a memorable entrance on his WWE debut when he wore a Pokemon card worth a record £3.8 million around his neck at WrestleMania.
The controversial social media phenom made his much-anticipated debut with the wrestling promotion at Night One of WrestleMania 38 – their flagship event of the year – in Dallas, Texas. Paul impressed in the ring, but his rare Pikachu Pokemon card certainly caught the eye.
The 27-year-old wore a 1998 Japanese Pikachu Illustrator card, with the item being graded ‘Gem Mint 10’ by PSA. The card hung around his neck on what appeared to be an expensive chain.
It has since emerged that the vintage Pikachu card is worth close to £4 million – and it was confirmed to be the most expensive Pokemon card in history. Paul acquired the rare card in a trade that valued it at £4,025,088, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
The YouTuber reportedly gave up a PSA 9 version of the card as well as £3,051,820 to use the card as part of his entrance. Paul revealed he even travelled to Dubai last year to secure the transaction after five months of negotiations.
The card is only one of 39 in existence and is held on a custom diamond pendant worth just over £60,000 with a Pokeball bail. While the entrance may have made headlines, Paul himself fared well in his debut at the Showcase of the Immortals.
Paul impressed in his tag-team match alongside the Miz against Rey Mysterio, who partnered with son Dominik. However, the Miz hit Paul with his Skull Crushing Finale finishing move moments after the pair secured a fine victory over the Mysterios.
“This is surreal,” Paul said, thrilled with the experience. “I cannot believe I got to share the ring with the Mysterios and also won the match.
“You know this is my first win. I can no longer say I’m the world’s highest-paid loser, that was my thing.”

When asked about his partner Miz’s betrayal, Paul jokingly compared it to the Academy Awards. He said: “I think it’s equivalent to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock.
“I’m still processing why The Miz betrayed me. To be honest with you, if I had to guess, he’s probably jealous. I was doing flips, I went off the top rope, I was doing cool s***. Put quite simply, he’s not capable of doing that s***.
“He’s older, he’s a little thicker. I’m young, I’m spry. He just doesn’t have it like me and I think he got jealous and decided to turn on me.”
