But there's scant chance of that happening as long as Jamie Carragher has a say. And the Liverpool legend has had a well-timed pop at his Sky Sports colleague before their old clubs come to blows again on Merseyside.<\/p>\n
The Premier League powerhouses will collide in front of The Kop on Sunday, nine months after United suffered a historic 7-0 defeat at the same site. And Erik ten Hag's side are in worse shape now than when they found themselves on the end of that humiliation back in March.<\/p>\n

It's struck a sense of fear into United fans the world over as they prepare to take on the league leaders in familiar territory. And Carragher was only too happy to remind Neville of their recent history with a '7 Up' Christmas jumper days out from the showdown.<\/p>\n
The Scouse star tagged his colleague while parading the piece on social media, which comes complete with images of him grinning on in front of a despondent-looking Neville. And the jumper also featured a play on the lyrics of 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday', which instead read: "Oh I wish I could relive this everyday. When the Kop starts signing and the Reds begin to play."<\/p>\n

The vast majority of people online appeared to admire Carra's ridiculing, at least for the effort if nothing else. But others were quick to warn of the potential pitfalls as one Reds fan wrote: "We\u2019re definitely losing. Football always likes to humble these type of fans."<\/p>\n
Another pleaded with Carragher to ease off in his goading: "Don\u2019t know where this much confidence [is] coming from!!! Please stop jinxing the team. . ." And Neville himself maintained an air of confidence in light of Carragher's Christmas display, reminding him of the old adage: "Arrogance is a sure path to failure."<\/p>\n

More over, Jurgen Klopp's men also undefeated in their last eight home meetings with their most bitter rivals, winning five of those and managing clean sheets in the last four. But apparently even that's not enough to convince some supporters against superstition.<\/p>\n
