Bobby Zamora has revealed how Stephane Dalmat's attitude problems derailed his time at Tottenham Hotspur.

Zamora and Dalmat played together at White Hart Lane during the 2003-04 season after the latter joined on loan from Inter Milan. The Frenchman arrived in north London with a lofty reputation and won over the Spurs fans with some impressive performances.

All in all, he played 28 games for the Lilywhites, scoring three goals and providing two assists. However, his well-documented attitude problems convinced Tottenham not to sign him on a permanent deal, and he subsequently went back out on loan to Toulouse.

Now, his former team-mate at Tottenham, Zamora, has spilled the beans on what it was like to train with the 44-year-old day-to-day. Speaking on the Undr the Cosh podcast, Zamora waxed lyrical about Dalmat's incredible ability but decried his attitude.

"There's one of the guys I'm talking about in terms of ego," Zamora replied when prompted by Dalmat's name. "Honestly, he was f***ing incredible," he continued.

"In training you could not get the ball off of him. I remember Redders [Jamie Redknapp] and Robbie [Keane] going 'he doesn't give the f***ing ball away'. So strong, so technically gifted, but his attitude f***ing stank, absolutely f***ing stank."

"Was he at PSG? Mourinho had him, all of those greats clubs and all of those great managers couldn't deal with him because he was just an absolute tool."

Having played for Marseille, PSG and Inter Milan before pitching up at Tottenham, the midfielder ended his career at somewhat less illustrious clubs. A spell on loan at Toulouse was followed by stints at Racing Santander, Bordeaux, Sochaux, Rennes and Nimes.

He was also capped by France U21s, although he never managed an appearance for the senior side, despite playing for some of the continent's biggest club teams.
