Tony Bellew leaped out of his chair in delight after being told Everton had beaten Chelsea during the I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here final.

The former boxer, who is a die hard Toffees fan, finished runner-up on the show, ahead of former UKIP leader Nigel Farage but behind ex-Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson. He was in good spirits while chatting to Ant & Dec in the tree-top studio after the final vote, but his mood got ever better when he learned how Sean Dyche's men got on at the weekend.

Goals from Abdoulaye Doucoure and Lewis Dobbin sealed a 2-0 victory for the Merseyside club, mere days after they smashed Newcastle 3-0. The win was their sixth in their last eight games and has moved them four points clear of the relegation zone.

"It was a big day today," Dec told Bellew, "it was Everton vs Chelsea in the football. Everton two … Chelsea nil." Bellew then jumped up and threw his fists in the air, shouting: "Yes! Get in there! Up the Toffees! That's what it's about," before kissing Thompson, who was sitting next to him, on the head.

He then beamed: "That's three wins in a row! That's unbelievable," before the show cut to an ad break. Fans on social media were loving Bellew's reaction, with one X user writing: "I've got a lot of time for Bellew going mad here. This is why football's so great."

A fifth commented: "Tony is a proper Evertonian. Absolutely love this." Another added: "You can take the man out of Everton but you can't take the Everton out of the man."

Everton's scintillating form comes just weeks after they were deducted 10 points for breaching Financial Fair Play regulations. Chelsea, meanwhile, have now lost three of out their last four Premier League games, and have dropped to 12th in the table.
