<\/p>\nJoey Barton told Laura Woods and Bianca Westwood \u201cI'll do you both\u201d as the row over his comments about female pundits continued.<\/p>\n
The former Newcastle and Manchester City midfielder has sparked outrage by sharing his thoughts about female pundits in men\u2019s football. Barton said men who enjoy listening to women commentating on men's football matches \u201cneed their heads testing\u201d. <\/p>\n
He then doubled down on his views during a heated debate on Piers Morgan\u2019s Talk TV show. He was joined by former Sky Sports reporter Bianca Westwood, who branded his comments \u201cout of order\u201d. Barton hit back, branding the criticism levelled at him \u201ca farce\u201d, while also getting England women\u2019s manager Sarina Weigman\u2019s name wrong, calling her \u201cSandra\u201d.<\/p>\n

TNT Sport and ITV Sport host Woods responded to Barton\u2019s original comments by posting on X (formerly Twitter): \u201cJoey\u2019s entitled to his opinion. If he feels that strongly about women in the men\u2019s game he could ask for a private conversation with the broadcasters & state his case. These tweets only encourage a pile on for the women getting on with their jobs. Or was that the intention?\u201d<\/p>\n
Barton isn\u2019t letting debate drop and took the social media today (Friday) to invite Westwood and Woods onto his podcast and unleash another lengthy rant about female pundits.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe current standard of Women working in the Men\u2019s game, is really, really poor. Right across the board! The experience of watching men\u2019s football and the journalistic standards of men\u2019s football, have both been hugely compromised because of this \u2018TOKENISM\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe \u2018WOKE\u2019 agenda\u2019s need to diversify and find equality, is a valid observation. But it must not come at a cost of professional standards. Highly qualified Men cannot get a job on TV because under qualified women fill these quotas.<\/p>\n
