Manchester United's remarkable run of being televised in the FA Cup is set to continue.

The Red Devils travel to Wigan in the third round of the FA Cup next month with the clash set to be shown on ITV on Monday, January 8. It continues a truly ridiculous sequence of United's FA Cup games being on the box.

Out of their last 87 Cup matches, only one fixture has not been shown on TV. No broadcasters picked up United's third round clash at home to Derby in 2018.

But viewers hardly missed much with late goals from Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku securing United, then managed by Jose Mourinho, a 2-0 win.

Before that, the last FA Cup fixture featuring the Red Devils not to be broadcast was way back in 2005 as non-league Exeter City held Sir Alex Ferguson's side to a goalless draw at Old Trafford.

The replay was shown, with United going on to progress, and from then on it's been almost a constant stream of United on the box.

Every fixture from United's run to the final last season was shown, including a home victory over Reading and West Ham's visit to Old Trafford in the fifth round.

The outing to Wigan will be the last of six FA Cup third round ties to be shown on TV across the opening weekend of the new year.

The all-Premier League tie between Crystal Palace and Everton will kick off the action on January 4 with Tottenham welcoming Burnley on January 5.

The derby clash between Sunderland and Newcastle is the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday January 6, to be shown live on ITV, while the BBC's first fixture of the weekend sees Aston Villa make the trip to Middlesbrough.

The only game to be shown on Sunday January 7 will also be on the BBC with Premier League leaders Arsenal welcoming Liverpool before United's trip to Wigan rounds off the action.
