{"id":299272,"date":"2023-12-04T18:25:01","date_gmt":"2023-12-04T18:25:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sports-life-news.com\/?p=299272"},"modified":"2023-12-04T18:25:01","modified_gmt":"2023-12-04T18:25:01","slug":"former-world-cup-finalist-handed-five-match-stadium-ban","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sports-life-news.com\/soccer\/former-world-cup-finalist-handed-five-match-stadium-ban\/","title":{"rendered":"Former World Cup finalist handed five-match stadium BAN"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1> Former World Cup finalist and Premier League cult hero handed five-match stadium BAN after sending off in England&#8217;s ninth-tier<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A former World Cup finalist has been handed a five-match stadium ban\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>This comes in the ninth-tier of English football after he was sent off\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>It&#8217;s wonderful, but we are baffled by what Big Ange is doing &#8211; It&#8217;s All Kicking Off\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A former World Cup finalist, who was appointed manager of a ninth-tier English side this year, has been handed a five match stadium ban.<\/p>\n<p>Lancashire-based side\u00a0 Skelmersdale United endured a torrid start to the season, having lost 15 of their opening 16 matches before searching for a new boss.<\/p>\n<p>Back in October, they opted to appoint a France international, who was in the squad for the 2006 World Cup, as their new manager.<\/p>\n<p>Shockingly, the Premier League cult hero, who played for Wigan, Tottenham and Sunderland didn&#8217;t have any previous experience in a managerial position.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pascal Chimbonda has had two wins since his appointment in October, and has been unable to fully recover their struggling form.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/04\/17\/78563479-0-Pascal_Chimbonda_has_been_handed_a_five_match_stadium_ban_after_-m-26_1701711200641.jpg\" height=\"462\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Pascal Chimbonda\u00a0has been handed a five-match stadium ban after being sent off<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/04\/17\/78563489-0-image-m-25_1701711173855.jpg\" height=\"523\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Former Tottenham player Chimbonda was appointed as manager of the ninth-tier side earlier this season\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Things have gone from bad to worse for the manager now, as he has been handed a five-match stadium ban after being sent off.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Taking to Twitter, the non-league cluv reavealed: &#8216;Pascal Chimbonda\u00a0has been served with a five match stadium ban for Improper Conduct which will take effect immediately.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;This is in relation to his sending off on the 21st October 2023 during the game against Barnoldswick Town.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>They continued to reveal that despite pleading guilty to the charge, the manager had a good reason for leaving his techincal area.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Pascal would like to state that although he pleaded guilty to the offence of leaving his technical area, he did so with the sole intention of preventing his players from getting hurt in a melee which had developed on the field of play,&#8217; they wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the club have laucnhed an appeal in a bid to reduce the number of games that their head coach will miss.<\/p>\n<p>Skelmersdale finalised: &#8216;The club have appealed against the severity of the punishment as it doesn\u2019t appear to be proportionate with the offence.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Particular as his previous disciplinary record is totally unblemished.
