Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted he wasn’t overly impressed that his side didn’t “put the game to bed” against LASK earlier on after his side romped to a routine 4-0 win. The Reds couldn’t have asked for a better Thursday evening as Toulouse’s draw with Union Saint-Gilloise meant Liverpool now top their group with one game to spare.<\/p>\n
It proved to be a comfortable evening for Liverpool with Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo putting the hosts 2-0 up inside 15 minutes. That all but killed any hopes LASK had of pulling off an upset at Anfield, but Liverpool should have finished the game with even more goals.<\/p>\n
They registered 24 shots on goal with nine on target, but LASK also had chances to stop Caoimhin Kelleher from getting his first clean sheet of the season. Those chances for the visitors came after Mohamed Salah scored from the spot with Liverpool taking their foot off the gas.<\/p>\n
Klopp has admitted that he “did not like” the way his players handled that stage of the game and wanted a more ruthless approach earlier in the match.<\/p>\n

“Most important is we’re head of the group and that will not change so that is good,” he said. “A lot of good stuff and some things I did not like too much.<\/p>\n
“I say it all the time, we still have to grow, we still have to develop and play good football but this game should have been put to bed before half-time. If you are on the front foot of a game and you’re in charge then kill it and we didn’t do that.<\/p>\n
