Watch the shocking moment when\u00a0UFC star Sean Strickland holds a trespasser at gunpoint after spotting him hiding on his property, as he later revealed that the man was ‘beating up a girl and fled drunk from security’ before ‘wrecking his car’ near his driveway.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Not shy of controversy, the UFC middleweight reigning champion shared footage of the incident on social media with a brief explanation of what happened, hours after it first went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘Here’s what I know…’ the 32-year-old Strickland wrote to start off the caption of his post on Instagram.<\/p>\n
‘The guy was drunk stomping out a girl, a security guard seen it, he jumped in his car and drove off. Security followed him, hit a curb, completely shredded his tire, drove on the rim for a while then jumped out and tried to hide at my house.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘I initially though he was stealing my car… He was arrested.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Strickland offered a brief explanation to what happened on his Instagram account on Monday<\/p>\n

Strickland, 32, won the UFC middleweight championship fight against Israel Adesanya in Sept.<\/p>\n
Strickland, who previously made headlines for dodgy reasons, like chasing a man with a flamethrower, caught the trespasser hiding in between two cars parked in his driveway before pointing a gun to his head, as shown by a camera attached to his Ring doorbell.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He then appeared to have knocked out the the trespasser while cops arrived at the scene, and before speaking to an individual wearing an orange shirt.<\/p>\n
Earlier on in the video, the UFC fighter can be seen leaving his home, looking tense, while holding a gun, as he geared up to meet up with the intruder.<\/p>\n
It’s been believed that the man initially fled onto Strickland’s property to avoid cops, as flashing sirens can be seen on the street of the UFC’s fighter’s house.<\/p>\n
Strickland initially shared the footage on his account on X on Monday, while claiming that he thought the man either ‘stealing my car or trying to break in…’<\/p>\n
‘What would you of done?’ he added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Strickland appeared to have knocked out the trespasser while waiting for the arrival of police<\/p>\n

The trespasser can be seen avoiding arrest and hiding in between two of Strickland’s cars<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Strickland stormed out of his home with a gun as he geared up to meet with the trespasser<\/p>\n
In September, the American stunned Israel Adesanya to win the middleweight title at UFC 293.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Strickland (28-5), who caused a stir in the lead-up to the highly-anticipated fight with sexist and misogynistic comments at a press conference promoting the bout, won a five-round decision with all three judges scoring it 49-46.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘Am I dreaming? Am I going to wake up? Someone hit me. … I don’t cry much but I’m trying to keep it together right now,’ he said immediately after the bout while looking emotional.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘I give up so many brain cells to the MMA gods… I thought I’d be walking away a little bloody, a little broken up. I’m a little shocked that didn’t happen.’\u00a0<\/p>\n
His next fight will be against Dricus Du Plessis (20-2) at UFC 297 on January 20.<\/p>\n
