David Nalbandian, who reached the final of Wimbledon in 2002 in a losing effort to Lleyton Hewitt, has been accused of secretly filming his ex-partner.

Araceli Torrado, 29, accused Nalbandian, 41, of setting up hidden cameras in the air conditioning. German newspaper Bild report cameras were found by her brother after he noticed a glare in the apartment, and a prosecutor’s office in the City of Buenos Aires ruled they were placed there by Nalbandian – but no crime was committed as they both lived there.

However, Araceli is now suing him for alleged harassment and stalking. She posted on social media: "In light of the questions I receive about the events of which I was a victim and whose author was David Nalbandian.

"I want to inform you that I am filing a criminal case and the corresponding civil legal proceedings. Thanks for the support."

She is also reported by Bild as saying in the indictment: "The horror was indescribable. He not only watched me, but could also see me naked!"

Nalbandian admitted to installing the device in a voice-note to his ex, that was reported by C5N. It said: "What matters to me is that I’m okay with you, I want to find a way for us to get back together. Do you want me to be honest? Yes, it was me. I was never able to watch anything because of the internet. I can not see it. If you want to sleep with someone, you’re welcome any day, any time."

He also insisted to Argentine newspaper Clarin: "There is already a judge's ruling, look carefully before speaking". And when asked about the reason why the case now came to light, he added: "They want money and fame."

The Argentine's career high of world No3 came shortly after his Wimbledon final in 2002. He's also a semi-finalist at the French, Australian, and US Open.

Nalbandian retired from tennis in 2013, following an operation on his right shoulder. And after making an appearance in the World Rally Championship, he returned to tennis as coach for Serbian tennis player Miomir Kecmanovic.
