Formula One reporter Florian K\u00f6nig has revealed the \u201csame answer\u201d he gives to every fan that asks about Michael Schumacher\u2019s health.<\/p>\n
Racing legend Schumacher, 54, has been out of the public eye since suffering a life-altering injury while skiing in the French Alps in December 2013. The seven-time F1 champion\u2019s family have kept details surrounding Schumacher\u2019s current health private since he came out of a medically induced coma and continued his rehabilitation at home all those years ago.<\/p>\n
But a new five-part documentary entitled \u2018Being Michael Schumacher\u2019, covering the German\u2019s journey from go-karting talent to motorsport legend, could shed light on how he is faring ten years on from the horrifying accident. And German presenter K\u00f6nig has now offered his own stance on the Schumacher family fiercely protecting the Ferrari icon's privacy.<\/p>\n

Speaking to German broadcaster ARD ahead of the five-part documentary\u2019s release, K\u00f6nig said: "Whenever someone speaks to me, at the airport or elsewhere, the question often comes up: 'Do you know how Michael is doing? Do you know what's going on now?'<\/p>\n
"I always say the same thing: I don't ask the family at all. I absolutely respect the fact that they only gave very sparse information, and I think that's right.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 56-year-old added: "I notice from these questions that people are still interested and that they still share in his fate."<\/p>\n
It follows the release of a 2021 Netflix documentary in which Schumacher\u2019s wife Corinna refused to offer little else other than the fact he was \u201cdifferent\u201d post-crash. Others have dropped similar updates since, with former F1 journalist and friend of Schumacher, Roger Benoit, recently claiming his condition is a \u201ccase without hope\u201d.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Grosvenor Sport on the back of Benoit\u2019s comments, Schumacher\u2019s former Benetton team-mate Johnny Herbert said: \u201cThere\u2019s never any news. What we do know is we never hear any positive news.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s the horrible thought that he is still not able to be close to the Michael that we all remember. And that is very sad.\u201d<\/p>\n
