Tottenham are keen on a move for Barcelona’s Raphinha in the January transfer window, according to reports in Spain.

The Brazilian winger moved to the Catalan giants in the summer of 2022 after starring in the Premier League for Leeds United.

Raphinha scored 10 goals in his debut season at the Nou Camp, helping Xavi’s side win the La Liga title in the process.

However, he has been restricted to just five starts so far this term and Barcelona could now be set to allow the 26-year-old to return to England.

Mundo Deportivo have reported that Spurs would be interested in signing Raphinha in the upcoming transfer window.

They state that Barcelona are willing to do business if there is a bid that ‘satisfies’ them as they look to raise funds following their well-documented financial issues.

Raphinha’s start to the current campaign has been hampered by a red card picked up in the opening game of the season against Getafe and a muscle injury that ruled him out for a handful of matches.

However, he was one of the standout attackers in the English topflight during his time at Leeds, as he contributed 17 goals and 12 assists across his two seasons at the club.

Chelsea were interested in signing the former Sporting and Rennes attacker before he moved to La Liga – stating the temptation of playing for Barcelona was too great to turn down.

A recent spate of injuries have disrupted Tottenham’s good start to the season under Ange Postecoglou

Brennan Johnson scored his first Spurs goal in the recent defeat at Wolves, but Postecoglou is reportedly on the hunt for attacking reinforcements in January

Raphinha has started only three league games this season, and could now look to move on in search of regular minutes ahead of next summer’s Copa America in the USA.

Ange Postecoglou will surely be looking to add to his attacking options in January after an injury crisis that has left him short of players.

Micky Van de Ven and James Maddison are set to be out until the new year after both picked up injuries in the 4-1 defeat against Chelsea, and Raphinha’s Brazil team-mate Richarlison is currently absent after undergoing surgery on a groin issue.

Brennan Johnson netted his first Spurs goal in defeat at Wolves last time out, but the addition of Raphinha would add greater depth to a side that slipped from top of the league to fourth in the week before the international break.
