Wales prospects of reaching Euro 2024 were dealt a blow after Rob Page’s side were held to a 1-1 draw against Armenia, with their qualification hopes now out of their hands.<\/p>\n
Page’s side knew that victories in their final two qualifiers would take them to next summer’s finals in Germany, after their memorable win over Croatia last month.<\/p>\n
Armenia, who held their own hopes of qualification, stunned Wales in the opening minutes with\u00a0Lucas Zelarayan firing in a fifth minute opener from the edge of the box.<\/p>\n
Wales levelled on the stroke of half-time after Nair Tyknizyan headed Connor Roberts’ long throw into his own net under pressure from Joe Rodon.<\/p>\n
Neither were able to secure a crucial winning goal in the second half, with both sides slumping to grass at full-time.<\/p>\n
Croatia will leapfrog Wales into second if they beat Latvia\u00a0in their penultimate qualifer.<\/p>\n
