Manchester United have reportedly set a steep asking price of £50million for wantaway winger Jadon Sancho in the January transfer window. The Red Devils paid Borussia Dortmund £73m for the 23-year-old two years ago and the English giants are keen not to lose too much of their investment.

Juventus and Steven Gerrard’s Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ettifaq are both said to be keen on acquiring his services in the New Year. Should they choose to fork out the full price on Sancho then United will have plenty of money to play with for a winter rebuild. Here, Express Sport looks at four top-quality signings they could make with Sancho’s £50m transfer fee.

Mehdi Taremi

Man Utd are on the lookout for a new striker in January to help relieve pressure on Rasmus Hojlund. Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney are set to be among their top targets although both will cost in excess of £50m.

Iranian goal machine Mehdi Taremi serves as a cut-price option, at just £20m, but possesses the clinical finishing the Red Devils have been lacking so far this season. The 31-year-old has bagged 20-plus goals in the Portuguese Primeira Liga over the last couple of seasons for Porto while United are understood to be monitoring his situation.

Pedro Neto

While one winger leaves the club United will need to bring in another and there are few better options in the Premier League right now than Wolves’ Pedro Neto. The Portuguese star has been outstanding this season and is attracting interest from several top European clubs including United.

Wolves want £60m for him but with some smart negotiating the Red Devils may be able to snap him up for the same price that they are hoping to sell Sancho for.
