Jamie Carragher chuckled at the 'favourite clip he's ever seen' as Tottenham refused to ditch their high-line against Chelsea.

Ange Postecoglou's men ended up losing 4-1 against Mauricio Pochettino's visitors but battled fiercely with the scores level despite being reduced to nine men after Christian Romero and Destiny Udogie were sent off.

The Aussie refused to ditch his principles in order to sit deep and soak up pressure, delighting Carragher on Sky Sports' Monday Night football to leave him asking for the opinion of defensive pioneer Franco Baresi.

Watching a clip of the tactic back following the full-time whistle which resembled a 7-1-0 formation in North London, Carragher said: "This is my favourite. This might be my favourite clip I've ever seen. We get them all in line and… look at that. That is just absolutely… That's a back seven. They've only got nine men and that's a back seven!"

Presenter Dave Jones then admitted sympathy for Eric Dier after he was brought off the bench and forced to chase down forwards relentlessly, after Micky van de Ven pulled his hamstring doing the same thing.

Elaborating on his view after Postecoglou insisted that he would still play the same way with five men, Carragher said while appearing alongside Daniel Sturridge in the studio: "Brilliant, loved it.

"Loved watching it, was intrigued right throughout the game watching it, being a defender myself. It was a fascinating watch, never really seen something like that before. The normal way you'd always defend with 10 men or nine would be be getting people behind the ball, trying to make it difficult, trying to make a team cross it if your numbers are there.
