{"id":296431,"date":"2023-11-06T14:23:58","date_gmt":"2023-11-06T14:23:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sports-life-news.com\/?p=296431"},"modified":"2023-11-06T14:23:58","modified_gmt":"2023-11-06T14:23:58","slug":"eric-bailly-caught-in-heated-clash-with-his-besiktas-team-mate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sports-life-news.com\/soccer\/eric-bailly-caught-in-heated-clash-with-his-besiktas-team-mate\/","title":{"rendered":"Eric Bailly caught in heated clash with his Besiktas TEAM-MATE"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Former Man United star Eric Bailly caught in heated clash with his own TEAM-MATE during Besiktas defeat, before defender claims &#8216;competitive tension&#8217; caused on-pitch bust-up<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Eric Bailly was substituted after getting into a bust-up with Besiktas team-mate\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The former Man United player later apologised to fans via a post on social media\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Big debates on Man United, Arsenal and Liverpool on It&#8217;s All Kicking Off podcast\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ex-Man United defender Eric Bailly was caught in a heated bust-up with his Besiktas team-mate before getting substituted at half-time by their manager.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred midway through Besiktas&#8217; league clash with\u00a0Antalyaspor, where the visitors were handed a disappointing 3-2 defeat.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bailly was unable to prevent his side from suffering the loss after getting removed at the break, following the unsavoury scenes on the pitch.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to half-time, Bailly was seen marching towards team-mate Tayfur Bing\u00f6l before reaching out and pulling the midfielder by his shoulder.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bing\u00f6l was swung around and met by the Ivory Coast international, who was clearly fuming at an incident earlier in the match.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/06\/13\/77457933-12715677-image-m-9_1699276818806.jpg\" height=\"288\" width=\"306\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/06\/13\/77457939-12715677-image-a-10_1699276822866.jpg\" height=\"288\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>Former Man United defender Eric Bailly confronted Besiktas team-mate Tayfur Bing\u00f6l just moments before half-time, during their clash against Antalyaspor<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/06\/13\/77457935-12715677-image-a-12_1699277155374.jpg\" height=\"1123\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Bailly later took to Instagram to apologise to his manager, team-mates and the Besiktas fans<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>Gedson Fernandes, who spent a season on loan at Tottenham, stepped in to intervene and defuse the situation, however it clearly boiled over into half-time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During the break, Bailly was replaced by full-back\u00a0Valentin Rosier and, in the 12 minutes that followed, Besiktas leaked three goals.<\/p>\n<p>The central defender later took to his Instagram story to explain his actions to fans and claimed that &#8216;competitive tension&#8217; caused the on-pitch bust-up.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Competitive tension pushes us to greater success, and that is all we want,&#8217; Bailly wrote.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We all want to win and want the best. I apologize to the manager, my team-mates and Besiktas family for my mistake. Heads up and focus on the next one.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Interim manager Burak Yilmaz later confirmed that Bailly&#8217;s substitution was due to his &#8216;inappropriate&#8217; actions.<\/p>\n<p>Yilmaz said: &#8216;There was a problem with Eric Bailly during the half-time. That&#8217;s why I took him off.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;There is no injury situation. I took him out of the game due to an inappropriate move.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/06\/13\/77458149-12715677-image-a-13_1699277282135.jpg\" height=\"453\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Besiktas lost the match after\u00a0Antalyaspor scored three goals in 12 minutes after half-time<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/06\/13\/77458111-12715677-image-a-11_1699277151690.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Bailly signed a one-year deal with the Turkish giants after leaving Man United in the summer<\/p>\n<p>In summer, t<span>he Ivorian defender left Old Trafford after seven years, having originally joined the club for \u00a330m from <\/span>LaLiga<span>\u00a0side Villarreal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Bailly made 113 appearances for United in all competitions, scoring his one and only goal in a match with Swansea back in 2017.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In a message on social media, Bailly wrote: &#8216;As I leave this club after many years of incredible memories, outstanding teammates, and trophies, I want to express my profound gratitude.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;This chapter may be closing, but the friendships and memories will forever remain in my heart.
