If you're looking for Football Manager bargains then you're in the right place.

The latest edition of the iconic game is released in full on Monday (November 6). Footy fans around the world will be buzzing to start up a new save and hone their skills in the dugout.

One of the most exciting parts or pretending you're Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp is dipping into the transfer market to bolster your ranks for a relegation battle or a title charge.

Having to manage a budget can be trickier than many think, so while it's exciting to splash the cash on a big-name arrival, it's also necessary to recruit wisely.

And there's some bargains to be had if you look in the right places, be it young talents on the rise or older heads who can still do a job – with Daily Star Sport picking out seven for you to target.

What's going to be your first FM24 save? Let us know in the comments section below

With David de Gea still yet to find a new club following his Manchester United contract expiry at the end of last season, he presents a perfect opportunity for a goalkeeper to sign.

While you'll need the budget to fund his wage demands, the 32-year-old will cost you nothing to sign. He's more than a safe pair of hands between the sticks, and still has plenty of years in the tank.

Another veteran who could provide a major boost to your starting side is AC Milan centre-back Simon Kjaer. At 34, he's largely a squad player for the Serie A giants nowadays.

But he's still a rock in the heart of Denmark's defence and with his contract up at the end of the season he's valued at just £2.7million, which you should be able to haggle down.

From one Dane to another – and aged 19, he could be a golden gem. Left-back Patrick Dorgu is enjoying a breakthrough season in Italy with Lecce.

Given his potential, his price tag on FM24 is set at £8million. Investing in him early could pay huge dividends as you make your way through the seasons.

If you're in need of a midfielder to pull the strings in the centre of the pitch, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a great budget option with an asking price of £4.5m. Like Kjaer, his deal is also up in Milan next summer.

He's still a starter for Inter and scored a brace on derby day in September, proving he's still got it at 34. If you don't, someone else will snap up the Armenian.

Striking a balance between experience and budding talent is vital for any football manager so partnering Mkhitaryan with 18-year-old Mark Cucalon might well be a match made in heaven.

Cucalon currently plays for Real Madrid's C side and therefore can be signed for less than £2m. It's a lot up front for a youngster, but he looks the real deal.

A forgotten player since leaving West Ham, Grady Diangana is starting to look back to his best in the Championship with West Brom this season. Remarkably, he's still just 25 years old.

The right winger is the most expensive option on this list at £7m, but put your negotiating skills to good use and you could have a steal on your hands.

Fans of FIFA, or EA FC, know all too well the havoc Luis Muriel can wreak on a computer game. The Colombian striker has pace to burn and still gives those who encountered his silver card back in 2014 nightmares.

Back then he was on the up but now his career is slowing down at 32 – although he isn't. And at £3m, you could do a lot worse with your money than putting in a cheeky bid to Atalanta when you start up your save.
