Listen here to It&#8217;s All Kicking Off\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gary Neville has ripped into five Manchester United players for their &#8216;whinging and sleeping&#8217; in their humiliating Carabao Cup exit on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n<p>The Red Devils lost 3-0 at home for the second time in the matter of three days, as Newcastle sent them packing out of the competition last night, after Man City had took a comfortable victory at Old Trafford on Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Miguel Almiron, Lewis Hall and Joe Willock scored the goals for Eddie Howe&#8217;s side, and it was their second strike which summed up the shambolic defending produced by Erik ten Hag&#8217;s squad.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on commentary for Sky Sports, Neville blasted five players for their role in Hall&#8217;s strike for Newcastle which doubled the lead after 37 minutes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After referee Robert Jones whistled for a foul, the five Man United stars &#8211; Harry Maguire, Casemiro, Mason Mount, Anthony Martial and Hannibal Mejbri &#8211; all appeared to be complaining as Matt Ritchie sprinted onto the scene and played a quick free-kick.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/02\/14\/77322403-0-image-a-29_1698934632856.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Gary Neville has slammed five Manchester United players for &#8216;whinging and sleeping&#8217; for Newcastle&#8217;s second goal during a 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/02\/14\/77322349-0-image-a-30_1698934660356.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Harry Maguire and Mason Mount (in left circle) and Casemiro, Hannibal Mejbri and Anthony Martial (right circle) were all caught off guard as Matt Ritchie ran in behind for a quick free-kick<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/02\/14\/77322501-0-image-a-31_1698934737452.jpg\" height=\"380\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>About 20 seconds later, Lewis Hall struck a volley into the back of the net for the Magpies<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/02\/14\/77322415-0-image-a-32_1698934758799.jpg\" height=\"421\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Casemiro, Maguire and Mejbri were among the players Neville picked out as &#8216;whinging and sleeping&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>With the United players caught off-guard, Newcastle took full advantage as Miguel Almiron set Joe Willock in behind the defence, and his cross was headed by Maguire into the path of Hall who volleyed into the bottom right corner.<\/p>\n<p>Neville pointed out the five Man United players as he said after the goal: &#8216;If we go back to the free-kick here, watch Manchester United when they give it away, watch them five players. Look at them.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018They\u2019re just sleeping, they\u2019re complaining to the referee, whinging. And whilst they\u2019re whinging, Newcastle are winning.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It\u2019s a wonderful, wonderful strike. Lewis Hall is a big talent, such a controlled, smooth volley. As soon as that free-kick was given away, the five of them were turning round and having a go at the referee whilst Newcastle were playing. It\u2019s schoolboy stuff, like under-9s.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The five players Neville referred to have\u00a0 cost United a staggering total of \u00a3250m.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Maguire (\u00a380m), Casemiro (\u00a370m) and Mount (\u00a365m) were seen with their backs to the ball as they protested the decision of a free-kick in the Newcastle half to the referee.<\/p>\n<p>Ritchie meanwhile ran in front of both Martial (\u00a336m) and Mejbri (\u00a39m) to play the ball to Willock who played a one-two with Almiron.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ten Hag&#8217;s side struggled to lay a glove on the Magpies in what was a rematch of last year&#8217;s Carabao Cup final where the Red Devils prevailed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/02\/14\/77322397-0-image-a-33_1698934836738.jpg\" height=\"398\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>It was the second time that Manchester United have lost 3-0 at home in the last week<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/02\/14\/77322395-0-image-a-34_1698934871442.jpg\" height=\"444\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Neville also warned Erik ten Hag (right) that he might get sacked going off United&#8217;s record with managers over the last decade<\/p>\n<p>Willock sealed the match for the Magpies with a 60th minute strike, with Howe&#8217;s side advancing into the quarter-finals.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The morning after the match, Neville warned Ten Hag that he might get sacked due to the club&#8217;s rudderless approach.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ten Hag has now overseen United&#8217;s worst start to a season since the 1962-63 campaign and the club have lost five of their first 10 home games at Old Trafford for the first time since 1930-31.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Last night we saw the Theatre of Dreams turn into the Theatre of Nothing.
