Even Kelce believes the NFL is ‘overdoing’ the coverage of his new flame. NBC cut to the singer 17 times during Sunday’s game. ‘Damn, that’s crazy. That’s like once a drive,’ the tight end said.

Shortly after the climax of ‘Sunday Night Football’, the NFL’s official Instagram account read ‘chiefs are 2-0 as swifties’ – Kelce and Co have won both games she has attended since their romance became public.

By Wednesday morning, the league’s account on X focused on this weekend’s game between the Jaguars and the Bills in London.

‘We frequently change our bios and profile imagery based on what’s happening in and around our games, as well as culturally,’ the NFL told The New York Post.

‘The Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce news has been a pop cultural moment we’ve leaned into in real time, as it’s an intersection of sport and entertainment, and we’ve seen an incredible amount of positivity around the sport.’

In response to accusations that the league seemed to be celebrating the Chiefs’ success – fueling conspiracy theories – the NFL added: ‘The vast majority of our content has remained focused on the game, our players and variety of other initiatives… including our Toy Story Funday Football alt-cast, the international games and more.’

Even Travis Kelce (right) believes the NFL is focusing too much on his new romance with Swift

An average of 27 million viewers tuned in to NBC and Peacock to watch the Chiefs beat the Jets, as celebrity friends Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and more joined Swift in her suite at MetLife.

Speaking on Wednesday’s new episode of his New Heights podcast, Travis said: ‘They are overdoing it a bit for sure, especially my situation. They’re just trying to have fun with it.’

Kelce appears on his podcast with his older brother Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles. He sided with his brother’s view and told the NFL to follow the lead of the NBA.

‘The NFL is not used to celebrities coming to the games,’ Jason said. ‘Basketball has it figured out.

‘You show them once, let them know they’re there, maybe after a touchdown, but you can’t go overboard with it. People are there to watch the game.’
