{"id":292552,"date":"2023-09-29T12:34:58","date_gmt":"2023-09-29T12:34:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sports-life-news.com\/?p=292552"},"modified":"2023-09-29T12:34:58","modified_gmt":"2023-09-29T12:34:58","slug":"man-utd-confirm-lisandro-martinez-is-out-injured-for-an-extended-period","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sports-life-news.com\/soccer\/man-utd-confirm-lisandro-martinez-is-out-injured-for-an-extended-period\/","title":{"rendered":"Man Utd confirm Lisandro Martinez is out injured for an &#039;extended period&#039;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/GettyImages-1685223360-1.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Manchester United have announced that \u2018Lisandro Martinez will<strong> be out of action for an extended period<\/strong>\u2018 as he recovers from his foot injury.<\/p>\n<p>Manchester United news, exclusives and analysis<\/p>\n<p>Martinez picked up the injury at the end of last season and though it appeared he had fully recovered over the summer, it turns out this was not the case.<\/p>\n<p>The World Cup winner missed last weekend\u2019s win at Burnley and the Carabao Cup victory over Crystal Palace on Tuesday, but it was hoped he would be back soon.<\/p>\n<p>But the Red Devils have now confirmed the worst in a statement on Friday: \u2018Lisandro Martinez will be out of action for an extended period due to an aggravation of the foot injury he suffered in April.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The Argentinian defender experienced the setback in our Premier League game against Arsenal earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Martinez bravely continued playing for the following two games against Brighton &amp; Hove Albion and Bayern Munich.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018But it has now been determined that he needs a period on the sidelines for recovery and rehabilitation.
