Lucas Moura has clinched silverware just four months after leaving Tottenham in favour of a return to his home nation Brazil.

The 31-year-old left Tottenham as a free agent in the summer following five-and-a-half years at the club during which time he helped them reach a Champions League final.

Moura is best remembered by Spurs supporters for his semi-final heroics when he scored a stunning hat-trick against Ajax in that year’s competition.

Now he has helped guide Sao Paulo to the Brazilian Cup 11-years after initially leaving his boyhood team that he first made his debut at in 2010.

Moura started both matches against Flamengo in the two-legged cup final where he starred in an experienced team also featuring former Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez amongst their ranks.

He previously enjoyed success winning the Copa Sudamericana during his first spell in Sao Paulo and was influential in helping them beat Flamengo 2-1 on aggregate across both matches.

Posting a picture of himself holding the impressively designed Brazilian Cup, Moura captioned his latest accomplishment: ‘HEEEEEEEEEE CHAMP!! One more promise of GOD being fulfilled in my life. Thank you Lord!’.

The title was Moura’s 20th piece of club silverware during what has been a stellar career of achievement, however, he failed to win anything during his time at Tottenham.

Supporters sought to point this out on social media where they expectedly eluded to another the situation of another Tottenham star leaving the club in search of major honours.

Harry Kane similarly left the club to seal a £100m switch to reigning German champions Bayern Munich, while, other big names such as Kyle Walker have previously go on to succeed away from Tottenham.

However, Lucas could be set to leave Sao Paulo not long after joining with his existing deal expiring at the start of next year and a move to America reportedly being considered.
