Cincinnati Bengals star receiver Ja’Marr Chase is in unfamiliar territory by getting off to a slow start to the season.

Chase has generated fewer than 40 receiving yards in each contest to open the 2023 campaign, earning 70 total yards with no touchdowns on 10 catches. Those numbers stand in stark contrast to his first two years. In 2021, Chase opened his rookie campaign with 155 yards and two TDs on seven catches. In 2022, he had 15 catches for 183 yards and a score through two games.

Chase, however, isn’t fretting about the lack of production.

“Be patient. Tee (Higgins) had the hot hand, so you know I just do my job, do what I can do, and let Tee eat,” he said Monday, via Joe Danneman of FOX 19.
