{"id":290969,"date":"2023-09-17T00:34:46","date_gmt":"2023-09-17T00:34:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sports-life-news.com\/?p=290969"},"modified":"2023-09-17T00:34:46","modified_gmt":"2023-09-17T00:34:46","slug":"usyk-and-fury-could-meet-before-the-end-of-the-year-says-bob-arum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sports-life-news.com\/boxing\/usyk-and-fury-could-meet-before-the-end-of-the-year-says-bob-arum\/","title":{"rendered":"Usyk and Fury could meet before the end of the year, says Bob Arum"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk&#8217;s fight &#8216;could happen as early as December&#8217;, claims Gypsy King&#8217;s promoter Bob Arum &#8211; who insists the bout &#8216;will happen sooner rather than later&#8217;<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Boxing promoter Bob Arum expects Oleksandr Usyk to fight Tyson Fury soon<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The British boxer is preparing for his one-off fight with MMA&#8217;s Francis Ngannou<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Usyk retained his world heavyweight titles last month by beating Daniel Dubois\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury could meet in an undisputed heavyweight championship before the end of the year, or in 2024, according to Bob Arum.<\/p>\n<p>Arum, the head of Top Rank, is promoting WBC champion Fury&#8217;s upcoming fight against\u00a0former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia on October 28.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But the 91-year-old boxing promoter believes that it is going to be pretty straightforward to get Fury to face up to the Ukrainian Usyk &#8211; who is the IBF, WBA and WBO champion &#8211; in the ring.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Arum told Sky Sports: &#8216;It won&#8217;t be hard to make. I know the Usyk people, they&#8217;re nice people. His manager, his promoter, they&#8217;re terrific people.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Usyk himself is a terrific guy. I think he wants that fight. I think once he fights Usyk, and assuming he beats Usyk, then I think he\u2019ll do a victory lap, maybe two more fights, and let the younger guys take over.&#8217;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>It contradicts a previous claim that Fury has no interest in fighting Usyk, and\u00a0Fury&#8217;s suggestion that he will continue to fight other names from the world of MMA, like Jon Jones, once the fight against Ngannou has been completed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Usyk stopped Daniel Dubois in Wroclaw, Poland, last month to retain his world heavyweight titles &#8211;
