Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was loudly jeered by home supporters after replacing Rasmus Hojlund in Saturday\u2019s Premier League clash against Brighton.<\/p>\n

With United trailing by two goals, ten Hag made a double substitution just after the hour mark. <\/p>\n
Casemiro was replaced by youngster Hannibal Mejbri with Anthony Martial brought on for the Denmark international.<\/p>\n
The decision prompted boos from all around Old Trafford with United going onto lose 3-1 \u2013 their third loss in their opening five Premier League games.<\/p>\n
Hojlund had been perhaps United\u2019s best player during a frustrating afternoon at home, seeing his first goal for the club chalked off with Marcus Rashford\u2019s cross judged to have gone out of play before finding the striker.<\/p>\n
The \u00a372million signing from Atalanta was starting his first game for the club having come off the bench for his debut against Arsenal prior to the international break.<\/p>\n
Former United striker Danny Welbeck opened the scoring for Brighton after 20 minutes with Pascal Gross doubling their lead eight minutes into the second-half.<\/p>\n

Following ten Hag\u2019s double change, things went from bad to worse with Joao Pedro scoring a third.<\/p>\n
Having come off the bench, Mejbri scored his first goal for the club to pull one back. <\/p>\n
There was no further fightback however with Brighton controlling the remainder of the contest with Andre Onana denying Ansu Fati a fourth goal for the visitors. <\/p>\n
Defeat leaves United in 12th place having taken just six points from five games.<\/p>\n
Focus immediately shifts to their opening group game of the Champions League with a daunting trip to Bayern Munich looming next week. <\/p>\n
