Mason Greenwood will soon return to popular game Football Manager after completing a season-long loan move to Getafe, according to reports. Greenwood is gearing up to resume his career in Madrid and received a warm welcome from Spanish fans at his unveiling earlier this week.

Last month, Manchester United confirmed that the 21-year-old forward wouldn’t be reintegrated into Erik ten Hag’s squad after completing a six-month investigation.

Greenwood was arrested in January 2022 and later charged with attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive control. He denied all allegations.

In February of this year, the Crown Prosecution Service discontinued its case after the ‘withdrawal of key witnesses’, leaving Greenwood free to continue his career.

United reportedly had plans to welcome Greenwood back to the club this season but performed an 11th-hour U-turn amid mass backlash from fans and domestic abuse charities.

But the club insisted they were ‘satisfied’ that Greenwood didn’t commit the crimes he was accused of and vowed to help him rebuild his career elsewhere before loaning him to Getafe.
