{"id":289577,"date":"2023-09-05T08:34:08","date_gmt":"2023-09-05T08:34:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sports-life-news.com\/?p=289577"},"modified":"2023-09-05T08:34:08","modified_gmt":"2023-09-05T08:34:08","slug":"joao-felix-to-receive-staggeringly-low-salary-at-barcelona-this-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sports-life-news.com\/soccer\/joao-felix-to-receive-staggeringly-low-salary-at-barcelona-this-season\/","title":{"rendered":"Joao Felix to receive staggeringly LOW salary at Barcelona this season"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Joao Felix to &#8216;receive staggeringly LOW salary at Barcelona&#8217; this season, after taking a huge pay cut to force through loan move from Atletico Madrid<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Joao Felix completed his loan move to Barcelona from Atletico Madrid last week<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>He has taken a staggering pay cut to get his dream move to the Catalan giants<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span>Listen to the latest episode of Mail Sport&#8217;s podcast It&#8217;s All Kicking Off<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Joao Felix has taken a major pay cut to get his dream move to Barcelona, according to reports.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old secured a loan move to the Catalan giants from Atletico Madrid last week, after previously claiming it was his &#8216;dream&#8217; to play for the club.<\/p>\n<p>And it has been revealed that he had to make a significant sacrifice to get the deal over the line.<\/p>\n<p>According to Cadena COPE journalist Pedro Morata, Felix is set to receive just \u20ac400,000 (\u00a3342,000) for the whole season.<\/p>\n<p>Felix&#8217;s decision to accept the pay cut is a major boost for Barcelona, whose financial issues have been well-documented, with the club having to pull several levers to make signings in recent transfer windows.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/05\/08\/75069565-12481599-image-a-6_1693900614151.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Joao Felix has agreed to take a staggeringly low salary at Barcelona this season<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/05\/08\/75069561-12481599-image-a-7_1693900637397.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Felix was presented as a Barcelona player on Saturday after completing his loan move<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>Atletico are also set to pay Felix the equivalent of two months&#8217; work, covering July and August, which amounts to around \u20ac1.5m (\u00a31.3m).<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining Barcelona, Felix put pen to paper on a new long-term deal with Atletico that will keep him at the club until 2029.<\/p>\n<p>This contract also included a pay reduction of 50 per cent for the period 2024-29.<\/p>\n<p>Felix has generally been associated with huge amounts of money, having become the most expensive teenager in world football when he joined Atletico for \u00a3114m in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea were willing to splash out on him in January as well, paying Atletico a \u00a39m loan fee and agreeing to cover his wages for the rest of the season &#8211; believed to be approximately \u00a36m\u00a0for half the campaign.
