UFC star Cyril Gane was the victim of a burglary over the weekend after thieves ransacked his home for jewellery and valuables, according to reports

The French heavyweight was back in action for the first time after being submitted by Jon Jones in March as he took on Serghei Spivac.

Gane knocked out his opponent in the second round of the bout and later returned home to find his house had been robbed by opportunistic thugs, as reported by Le Parisian.

The heavyweight’s home is located in the Nogent-sur-Marne commune in the eastern suburbs of Paris and is a safe location, popular with families and tourists.

However, while Gane took to the octagon in the capital city, thieves decided to use the opportunity to gain access to his property and make off with a host of luxury goods.

Gane has not yet commented on the break-in but it is believed a luxury Rolex wristwatch was among one of the items stolen from the property.

Police were reportedly called at 7.30am by which time those responsible for the burglary were long gone with their bounty of goods in-tow.

Video footage at the scene is being used to try and identify those involved as law enforcement attempts to track down the stolen items.

Gane meanwhile will have to focus on moving forward without his luxury assets after seeing his night of celebration ruined by the break-in at his home.

The 33-year-old is now expected to fight English competitor Tom Aspinall, with the victor likely to be given a shot at the heavyweight world champion belt.
