{"id":289515,"date":"2023-09-04T15:35:02","date_gmt":"2023-09-04T15:35:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sports-life-news.com\/?p=289515"},"modified":"2023-09-04T15:35:02","modified_gmt":"2023-09-04T15:35:02","slug":"salah-should-come-out-and-say-hes-staying-insists-chris-sutton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sports-life-news.com\/soccer\/salah-should-come-out-and-say-hes-staying-insists-chris-sutton\/","title":{"rendered":"Salah should &apos;come out and say he&apos;s STAYING&apos;, insists Chris Sutton"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Mohamed Salah should &#8216;come out and say he&#8217;s STAYING at Liverpool&#8217; to end speculation over his future, insists CHRIS SUTTON on Mail Sport&#8217;s &#8216;It&#8217;s All Kicking Off&#8217; podcast<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad are desperate to bring in Mohamed Salah<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Liverpool rejected an initial \u00a3150m offer, but Al-Ittihad are keen to bid again\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Listen to the latest episode of Mail Sport&#8217;s podcast &#8216;It&#8217;s All Kicking Off&#8217;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Chris Sutton has called for Mohamed Salah to come out and end the speculation over his future, amid ongoing links to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.<\/p>\n<p>Leading players from across the world have flocked to the Middle East this summer, with the country&#8217;s top flight splashing the cash on stars such as Neymar, Karim Benzema, N&#8217;Golo Kante and Sadio Mane.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool forward Salah could be next with Al-Ittihad hoping to tempt the Reds with a \u00a3200million bid\u00a0after seeing an initial \u00a3150m offer rejected.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, the Reds insist the Egyptian is not for sale and will hope to hold out until Thursday when the Saudi transfer window closes.<\/p>\n<p>And former Premier League winner Sutton, speaking on <span>Mail Sport&#8217;s<\/span>\u00a0It&#8217;s All Kicking off podcast, was questioned by co-host and football editor Ian Ladyman on what he thinks will ultimately happen with Salah, who scored in Sunday&#8217;s 3-0 win over Aston Villa.<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/12\/75038251-12478669-image-a-5_1693827982889.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Chris Sutton called for Mohamed Salah to come out and end the speculation over his future<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/12\/75038277-12478669-image-a-6_1693828016082.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Saudi side Al-Ittihad are keen to bring in Salah and saw an initial \u00a3150m bid rejected last week<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/13\/75039655-12478669-image-m-18_1693830111070.jpg\" height=\"605\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Sutton &#8211; speaking on Mail Sport&#8217;s &#8216;It&#8217;s All Kicking Off&#8217; podcast &#8211; insisted the Egyptian could &#8216;put the speculation to bed&#8217; by coming out and announcing he will stay at Liverpool this season<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Is he staying or is he going?&#8217; Sutton said. &#8216;The bottom line is Mo Salah can put this to bed himself, can&#8217;t he?<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;So Jurgen Klopp has come out and said &#8220;we think he&#8217;s staying&#8221;. Szoboszlai has come out and said, &#8220;we think he&#8217;s staying. We hope he&#8217;s staying.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Mo Salah can just (say he&#8217;s staying). And the question is, why hasn&#8217;t he done that?<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;He could make life easy for everybody.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Ladyman &#8211; who wrote on the topic for his Mail Sport column last week\u00a0&#8211; agreed with Sutton&#8217;s take on the issue as he said: &#8216;I couldn&#8217;t have put that better myself. I&#8217;m thinking maybe you (Chris) should come and sit on my side of the table&#8217;, before he added: &#8216;I think he&#8217;s staying for what it&#8217;s worth.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Alongside the aforementioned comments from Jurgen Klopp and Dominik Szoboszlai, Reds defender Andy Robertson also insisted that Salah is committed to the club despite the strong interest from Saudi Arabia.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span>He said: &#8216;For us we block that out, Mo blocks it out. We let other people talk about that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;For us there is no concern. For us Mohamed Salah is a Liverpool player and we believe that is what is going to be the case for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Our squad is what it is and that&#8217;s the squad that is going to go forward now with the window shut. It is about getting the most out of the squad, it is about looking forward to the season ahead and trying to do better than what we did last season.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018He&#8217;s the ultimate professional. He does what it does, he is one of the best players in the world and he is professional.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Robertson continued: &#8216;He lets other people do the talking, lets other people say what they have to say, but he&#8217;s always been committed to Liverpool and you saw that with this performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018He&#8217;s not been affected. I&#8217;ve been around him a lot and he&#8217;s not been affected by anything. Mo has reacted in the best way possible and I think you have seen that with his performance, I think he was pretty special.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Just before the clash against Villa, Klopp had said he had no worries about Salah&#8217;s focus despite ongoing speculation he could depart to the team managed by Nuno Espirito Santo.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/12\/75038479-12478669-image-a-8_1693828094876.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Jurgen Klopp insisted he has no concerns about Salah leaving the club to move to Al-Ittihad<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/12\/75038299-12478669-image-a-9_1693828167686.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Saudi champions are managed by former Wolves and Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo<\/p>\n<p>After pulling a confused look before laughing at the question, he said:<span>\u00a0&#8216;I didn&#8217;t have to. This was a media story and it never came through.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I have a big desk in my office, a lot of papers on there, a laptop, iPad, everything you need. None of them are busy with any kind of this news.
