Randal Kolo Muani informed Eintracht Frankfurt of his absence from training on Wednesday ahead of their Europa Conference League play-off, as he seeks to force through a move to PSG.

The French forward enjoyed a fruitful maiden season in the Bundesliga , netting 15 times across 32 appearances to finish third in the league’s scoring charts and emerged as a target for the Parisian’s this summer.

The German club have remained adamant the 24-year-old would remain at the club unless Luis Enrique’s side met their £86million valuation.

That message was reiterated in a statement from the Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche on Wednesday, who insisted the forward’s actions would not influence their stance.

‘This isn’t the Randal we’ve got to know and we know his real character.’ He said. ‘He’s being bombarded at the moment and the result is this reaction, which is wrong, as we’ve made clear to him and his entourage along with all the ramifications.

Muani could complete a devastating all-French front three alongside Ousmane Dembele (left) and Kylian Mbappe (right)

‘We’ll contest the match against Levski Sofia without him. For us it’s clear: this behaviour has no influence on transfer business.

‘What matters now is the important game against Sofia. That has utmost priority and great significance for the club. Our team have a high level of quality and are fully focused on tomorrow’s game.’

Muani joined Frankfurt from Nantes on a free transfer last summer, and quickly received his first international call up.

Didier Deschamps named Muani as part of his squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and the forward netted in France’s semi-final triumph against Morocco before scoring in the penalty shootout in their final defeat to Argentina.

Muani’s solid form last season caught the attention of Erik ten Hag, with Manchester United considering a move for him before turning to a move for Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund.
