Paddy Pimblett shows off rigorous training regime to get shredded for UFC 282

Paddy Pimblett has given fans an insight into his intense weight shredding regime as he prepares for his next UFC bout.

The Scouse star has won all three of his bouts since his move from Cage Warriors, and what's more, has bagged all three 'performance of the night' awards in the process. And he'll continue his bid for a lightweight title shot when he takes on American Jared Gordon on December 10 in Las Vegas.

Pimblett, 27, has become infamous for ballooning in weight between bouts, following his first-round rear-naked choke submission victory over Rodrigo Vargas in March, he told the Daily Star he was treating himself to calorie binges to celebrate. He also claimed to have shred the weight of a British Bulldog before his win over Jordan Leavitt in July.

But while he prepares to take on Gordon, he's given fans a special look at his daily diet via his Paddy the Baddy YouTube channel. Starting the day with a macro meal, he explained how he currently has nine kilograms to lose before facing Gordon.

"I can do more than that overnight – I've done 8.4 kilo in a night before," he nonchalantly claimed. "So I think I can do nine kilo in four weeks."

After showing footage of an intense training session, there were also words from his personalised macro chef, Joel McCarthy, who Pimblett says prepares "delicious scrans" for him," during his fight camps. "He's strict, he doesn't cheat," said McCarthy.

"People think that it's more difficult for him than it is because they assume he's still eating s**t. But he's not."

Pimblett also added his methods were not "rocket science," and outlined how his menu changed each week to avoid repetitive eating.

When in camp, in the course of a week he'll scoff protein granola or overnight oats before morning training, a chicken salad wrap or a BBQ chicken burrito for lunch, and pasta and lean burger with sweet potato fries for dinner. He'll also have protein cakes and cookies as snacks as he consumes between 1400 and 1700 calories a day.

The vlog also showed footage of Pimblett and friends staying up until the early hours to support friend Molly McCann in her recent defeat to Erin Blanchfield. And it concluded with the star making a vow for his next fight: "I promise you now, Jared Gordon's getting finished in the first round."
