Ana Maria Markovic has pledged to come back stronger having been left in agony by an injury that has forced her to 'say goodbye to football for a long time'.
The Croatia international forward fell to the ground and burst into tears while clutching her leg during a recent fixture having now offered an update from hospital.
The 23-year-old, who plays for Grasshopper domestically, uploaded a snap of herself smiling while leaving a hospital ward on crutches, adding: "Goodbye hospital, now rehab time."

"Unfortunately I got injured at the last game and will now have to say goodbye to football for a long time. It hurts so much and still can not believe it.

Markovic had been playing for Grasshopper against former club Zurich when she hit the turf before getting immediate attention from club physios.
Markovic has earned worldwide fame during her career thanks to her online profile – but she'd rather not be called sexy.
She said in a previous interview with 20 Minuten: "I like articles that call me the most beautiful footballer – or one of the most beautiful – because it makes me happy to hear that I'm beautiful.
“"But then there are articles describing me as the 'sexiest' player in football. That doesn't sit well with me. Also, because of my family."
Having played 16 times so far this season at club level, Markovic will be hoping to add to her single international goal on her comeback.
