Erik ten Hag's Man Utd summer to-do list
Over the weekend, it emerged that Sheikh Jassim was happy for the Glazers to make Manchester United transfer plans for the time being. And it also was claimed Dusan Vlahovic is one striker under consideration as Erik ten Hag looks to bolster his attack. The Serbia international was apparently keen to join in January – meaning a move to Old Trafford could be on at the end of the season.
Back in January, United wanted a new striker.
They’d seen Cristiano Ronaldo leave the club two months previously, while also witnessing Anthony Martial struggle with injuries during the first half of the season.
And 90min said at the time that Vlahovic had made it clear he wanted to move to United and play under Ten Hag over at Old Trafford.
It was claimed the Serbia international was being offered around Europe’s top clubs in the wake of Juventus being docked 15 points.
As for Juventus, they were reportedly open to offers for the 23-year-old having seen him struggle for consistency since his move from Fiorentina 12 months previously.
Man Utd transfers: Ten Hag wants another Pogba and it makes sense
In the end, however, things didn’t work out.
Vlahovic would end up staying at Juventus, who had been hoping to bank a fee as high as £66million from any potential sale.
And United proceeded to bring in Wout Weghorst from Burnley, with the Netherlands international scoring just two goals for the club so far.
Fast-forward to now, however, and it appears United are set to reignite interest in the Juventus star.
Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen are their preferred targets, having dazzled for Tottenham and Napoli respectively this season.

But landing either of the pair won’t come cheap given their importance to their teams, which is where Vlahovic could come in.
He has admittedly struggled for form at Juventus ever since moving from Fiorentina back in the January transfer window of 2022.
But, on his day, the forward remains one of the very best in his position in the whole of world football.
Vlahovic has scored three goals from his last five matches, with his latest coming in his side’s 2-1 defeat to Sevilla on Thursday.
And he’s managed to net 14 times from 41 appearances across all competitions, clocking up four assists along the way.

Meanwhile, Ralf Rangnick revealed last year that he’d asked for Vlahovic during his time in the United dugout – only for his request to be denied by the club board.
“There were a few… [Luis] Diaz who is now at Liverpool, [Julian] Alvarez who will be at Man City in the summer, [Dusan] Vlahovic who at the time was still with Fiorentina,” he said when asked about players he’d recommended.
“So those are just three of them that come across my mind now.”
Rangnick also said at the time: “I spoke to the board and told them, ‘Shouldn’t we at least speak and analyse and find if we can at least get a player, on loan or a permanent deal?’
“In the end the answer was no. Maybe they didn’t want to do any winter business. It doesn’t matter, the answer was no.
“Maybe I still believe that we should have tried in those 48 hours, the board meanwhile sees it the same way, they agreed, but they also spoke to the scouting department at the same time as me.
“The answer at the time was no, there is no player on the market that can really help us.
Vlahovic could feature when Juventus go up against Empoli on Monday night (7.45pm).
The Old Lady currently sit second in the Serie A table, a point above Lazio and three clear of Champions League finalists Inter Milan.
